St. Mary's Glacier

Hiking to St. Mary's Glacier.

Picnicking by the lake.

The wind picked up and clouds rolled in so we were glad to have our hats and gloves.

There was a fire burning near by which made the sun look red.

The Glacier.

It looks all hazy because of the smoke in the air. We could not only smell the smoke but occasionally we saw ashes falling.

Day Trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

The 1st weekend in October we took a day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

We stopped in Netherland and admired this 1923 Panama Canal Steam Shovel.

This is the only "snort" (from the children's book Are you my Mother) still existing.

The shovel is big enough to hold all 3 kids.

We stopped right outside of Estes Park and toured this old church.

Just inside the park we saw our 1st herd of elk.

Amazing animals.

This was our 1st hike of the day.

I love spending time outdoors with my family!

Miles is one good looking boy!

Playing in the leaves.

The bridge looked too boring.

Jeremiah always finds his way up the tallest rock around.

Alberta Falls

Lexi relaxing after a nice hike to the falls.

The elk were everywhere. Listening to them bugle was just amazing!

A trip to the park in the fall during elk mating season is definitely a new yearly event for us!
