The new Frisco Bike Park opened on September 24, 2011.

Jeremiah was one of the 1st to check it out.

Hard to see, but Jeremiah is coming down the big track here.
Troy even gave it a try.

And the highlight of our day........  Jeremiah made it on the news.
He opened the story about the new bike park and did great!!

Lexi was having her birthday sleep over when it came on the tv.  All the girls were so excited to see Lexi's big brother on the tv.

Below this picture is the printed version of the story.
FRISCO - Sporting a red and white helmet and loaded blue and white bike with 21 gears and full suspension, it's clear Jeremiah Vaille loves to ride.

"I like to exercise," said Vaille.

Vaille was one of the first to roll on the Peninsula Pump Track at the new Frisco Bike Park which just opened on September 24. The course comes with twist, turns and big jumps for high flying action that Frisco Bike Park Manager Josh Olson says will make it one of the best in the state.

"It's kind of revolutionary to build a park at this scale for riders and with this many amenities and features for sure," said Olson.

Just having bikes here also signifies an amazing transformation of the landscape. Frisco Assistant Public Works Director Rick Higgins says just a few years ago the area was covered with thousands of dead, dangerous red pine trees killed by bark beetle, but all have now been removed.

"When it was all over with we pretty much removed in excess of 35,000 trees and we're also beginning to reuse some of this timber for some of our sign work and replant new trees," said Higgins.

Now bikers have a place for fun, and flying with trails for every ability.

"From young to old beginner to advanced," said Olson.

The bike park is open every day, all day, until snow covers the ground. Admission is free. Next summer they expect to have bike clinics and classes. This winter the area will be turned into a tubing hill.
