Moab Camping Trip Day 2

We woke about 7:45 but stayed in the tent talking for a while because it was cold and windy out.

We decided it was too windy to cook breakfast on the propane so we had granola bars and went exploring. Miles loved leading the way, the only problem is he was too fast for me.
"Mom, you better hurry up cause I'm not coming back down just to show you the way." - Miles

"We are way up here right Mom?" - Miles

"Dad, am I dreaming?" - Jeremiah

We drove to Arches National Park.

Not sure if it was the cold wind, or the threat of a government shut down, but most trails were all ours during our visit to the park.

Loving time with my babies!

Always having to go the challenging way.

We were not thrilled to have to bundle up, but there was no snow on the ground.

"Can I jump off, Dad?" - Jeremiah

"Sure why not." - Troy

"I guess it's a good thing he asked you because I didn't think that was a great idea." - Mom

Check out the top of Sand Dune Arch.

Yes, that's Troy and Jeremiah sitting up there.

Miles got his chance to feel the sand between his toes.

"There is even sand in my ear!" - Jeremiah says after rolling down the sand hill many times.

"Jump with me Dad." - Jeremiah

Notice Troy cheats by putting his hand on the rock, guess is was too far for him to jump, just not his kids.

Miles turn to jump.

Next stop, Skyline Arch.

On the way back to camp, we stopped to look at the dinosaur tracks.

"That must have been one BIG dinosaur." - Miles

Just taking it all in.

They love finding these holes in the walls.

We arrived back at camp around 6:00 to find our tent blown over with one broken pole from the wind. Luckily, I married an Eagle Scout who was able to fix our tent in no time. He then started us a fire and cooked us dinner. After dinner, Troy and I sat close to the fire while the kids dug in the sand. After a bit, they too decided it was cold (48 degrees)and the wind had picked up so we put the fire out and played dice in the car for a bit before heading to bed.
